Death threats alleged

KETCHIKAN (KDN) — A 50-year-old Naukati man is accused of making death threats against Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers in Klawock arrested Gregory Richter, 50, Sunday for third-degree assault, fourth-degree domestic assault and driving with a revoked license.

Troopers were called at 12:51 p.m to a domestic disturbance in Naukati, where Richter allegedly assaulted a family member before driving away from the scene with a revoked license.

Richter allegedly made death threats toward the responding troopers, and troopers report that Richter had twice before made similar threats toward them.

Troopers found Richter in Naukati and arrested him without incident. He was taken to Craig Jail, where he was held without bail. Troopers say alcohol was a factor.
