Sylva May (Pratt) Umphrey, 91, died May 14, 2017, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Indiana.
Norman Melvin “Nick” Farstad, 86, died June 22, 2017, in Shoreline, Washington. He was born July 30, 1930 in Ketchikan.
Nicholas Louis Kristovich

Nicholas Louis Kristovich, 31, died Aug. 8, 2013, in Ketchikan.

Mr. Kristovich was born in Ketchikan, July 13, 1982. He attended school in Ketchikan and Kasaan, and received his GED in 2001.

After the terrorist attacks of 9/11, he joined the U.S. Navy at age 19 and worked as a computer programmer on the ships. After the Navy, he worked various jobs as a laborer in Juneau, Seattle and Ketchikan.

Mr. Kristovich enjoyed sportfishing and spending time with his extended family and friends.

Mr. Kristovich is preceded in death by his uncle, Thomas "Rocky" Kristovich; grandfather, Tom Kristovich and grandparents Val and Ed Braz.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Kristovich; aunts,Teri (Charlie) Teal, Pam Kristovich and Diane Taylor; uncles James Kristovich, Steven Kristovich, Kevin Kristovich and Phil Taylor; Linda Widmyer and her children; many cousins and close friends.

A celebration of life will take place Sat., Sept. 28, 2013, at 3 p.m. at North Tongass Community Center.
