It can be argued that Gov. Sarah Palin has, from time to time, invited criticism as well as attention. As is the case with all of us, some of the criticism has been warranted.
Some of it is just silly.
That's the case of the Juneau activist who lives in the state capital and claims that tourists looking at the governor's mansion are "voyeurs" who are wrecking the neighborhood.
Oh. Come. On.
People visit capitals for a variety of reasons, and in Juneau, one of the cool things to look at is the governor's house. We've done it ourselves, though on foot and not by bus. We weren't voyeurs; we were Alaskans interested in our state and lucky to be in Juneau to get a look at the capital city.
The activist seems to be using the complaint as a way to slam Palin for not actually being in Juneau much of the time; when she offered to meet with him, he declined. According to The Associated Press, he also said the tours to which he objects aren't any worse than before Palin took office. It's Palin he has the problem with.
Seems like what he's done, though - even with the support of "some residents," as AP describes it - is give Palin a deserved platform from which to smack him down. If he didn't want to work out the so-called problem, why complain?
Looks like the sort of publicity stunt for which he might criticize Palin.
