The event culminated in a "Ghost Out" assembly which illustrated the effects of impaired driving.

Fourth grade students at the school have been doing research about birds in Alaska. To give the students a more hands-on experience, fourth-grade teachers David White and Wendy McLaren invited the wildlife center to bring some birds to the school on April 30.

"We got to go with a first-year medical student who showed us around the cadaver lab," said Kayhi junior Jolene Pflaum. "We got to pass around hearts and livers and all this cool stuff.
