Kayhi takes 6th in Sitka

KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The Ketchikan High School wrestling team competed in the Mount Edgecumbe High School Invitational Tournament in Sitka.

As a team, the Kings finished in sixth-place overall out of 12 teams, putting up 120.5 total points along the way.

Mt. Edgecumbe took first place in the tournament, earning 353 points, with River Valley, Sitka, Petersburg and Klawock high schools finishing in spots one through five.

Kayhi’s Matthew Rodriguez and CJ Jasper each took sixth place in the 120-pound weight class.

In the 132-pound group, Sam Jackson took home a seventh-place finish.

Joey Karlik finished in fourth place in the weight class of 138 pounds and Richard Stuart also ended his day in fourth place in the 145 weight group.

Jaret Warstler finished eighth at 170 pounds and at 195 pounds, Blaise Boor finished in fifth place.
