Ortiz’s bad idea

EDITOR, Daily News:

A response to Rep. Dan Ortiz’s letter in the Ketchikan Daily News, Oct. 14-15, 2017.

Mr. Ortiz, I have had it with you and the governor and all who support a state tax.

His idea makes more sense than yours. Everyone will pay a portion of their wages still stink, but better. Yours, however, is horrible. Why should we that have worked all out lives have to support those who won’t?

I look forward to my PFD each year and now you want to take it away and give it to ones waiting for a handout. Wake up people and smell the roses. (Quit spending millions on stupid things. Problem solved.)

Thomas Jefferson once said democracy fails when you take from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

Pretty straightforward saying.
