Southeast Alaska based business The Bay Company opened in Ketchikan in May, moving into the building that previously housed The Cleaners dry cleaning at 636 Stedman St.
Owners DeAnna and Michael Villarma opened the business, which also is known as Bayco. It specializes in marine sales and service, as well as power sports merchandise such as ATV’s.
Bayco has two other locations in Southeast Alaska — in Craig and Wrangell — and the Craig location is managed by their business partners, Chet and Barbara Powell.
“We’ve been in Southeast Alaska for 50 years, this is our 50th year anniversary,” Michael Villarma said. “We’ve provided a service to the Wrangell community for about 50 years, the Craig community for about 11 years, and now we’re looking forward to offering that same service here in Ketchikan.”
Bayco offers brands such as Mercury, Yamaha, Arctic Cat, Polaris, Lund Boats, Boss Audio, Trac Outdoors and others.
Michael Villarma said they look forward to serving Ketchikan and ensuring sure everyone enjoys their time on the water.
“We’ve been extremely welcomed by the community here in Ketchikan, and have had a great working relationship with a lot of the people here and we look forward to continuing that and hopefully providing people with a service that they have been looking for,” Michael Villarma said.
Located at 636 Stedman St., The Bay Company is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and is closed on Sunday.
